John Mauldin's financial blog

I came across John Mauldin, http://www.johnmauldin.com, when someone left a printout of his blog in a railway carriage. His "Outside the Box" column is free to all.

I enjoy his column, and I think some of you may enjoy it too. I especially admire his thirst for knowledge and his tolerance of diverse viewpoints. He actively seeks disconfirming evidence and the views of those who disagree with him. Imo, this stance is a model for what politics should be, and isn't :-)

  1. Hey Edward!

When I saw John Mauldin's mention of "Edward Ream", of course I had to check if it was the Edward Ream I thought it might be...and it looks like it is...

Don't see a direct email link for you, though, so this is the only way I can see to say "Hi"; let's touch base in 2012 (I'm heading to Japan in the morning and returning New Year's Eve)

    Cheers!

  2. Edward, I work for an IT guy and I don't understand anything of the ".leo" stuff you're blogging about, lol - but I do understand your reaction to discovering John Mauldin's work. I like how you describe his views, and I consider it the best compliment.
I'm a home-office manager for a service biz that employs ONE person, so I'm no investor, yet his insight not only makes sense to me, but applies to me - because he is showing the worlds' systems and how they are currently breaking down. In short, I agree about what you said about him!
I've listened to several of his audio interviews/talks and read his book too (a gift). What you said holds true through all of it.
Another point to make is that he isn't a "doomer" who's words scare and instill fear, except for the scope of the subject matter itself. I hope you keep reading his stuff, because you'll know much more about how, and what, is working behind the scenes (without the conspiracy theories that abound out there right now - not that they may not be true, but it's enough to just get facts, right?)
I hope your readers are encouraged to check him out!
Have a good day, despite your growing knowledge!
And thanks for sharing a responsive, credible, and reliable info source like John!

Yes it is. I'm an old man, mad about programming. Here are my latest thoughts:
